Kadıköy Pier
Beyazıt, 34126 Fatih/İstanbul
Kadıköy Pier, one of Istanbul’s most significant ferry piers, has a history dating back to the 18th century when a wooden dock stood in front of İskele Camii, commissioned by Sultan Mustafa III. With the construction of HaydarPasha Station in 1908, land reclamation efforts moved the shoreline, leading to the need for a new pier. The current building, completed in 1926, is a First National Architectural Movement structure, reflecting Selçuklu and Ottoman motifs with its arched windows, decorative tile panels, and symmetrical façade. Over time, renovations altered some original features, but recent restorations by İBB Miras have transformed it into a library, cultural space, and café, maintaining its historic charm while serving as a vibrant public hub for travelers and locals alike.
