The Istanbul Archaeological Museums, located in the Topkapı Palace Museum complex, house one of the world’s most impressive collections of ancient artifacts. Established in the late 19th century, the museum complex consists of three main buildings: the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of the Ancient Orient, and the Tiled Kiosk Museum. Its vast collection includes treasures from Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Greece, and Egypt, with highlights such as the Alexander Sarcophagus and the Treaty of Kadesh, one of the oldest known peace treaties. With its rich displays of sculptures, inscriptions, and historical relics, the museum offers a deep dive into the many civilizations that have shaped the region.
