Beyazıt Tower
Beyazıt Mah İstanbul universitesi rektörlüğü, Süleymaniye, 34452 Fatih/İstanbul, Türkiye
Standing tall above the historic Beyazıt Square, the Beyazıt Tower is one of Istanbul’s oldest fire-watch towers, offering a panoramic view of the city’s skyline. Built in 1828 by Sultan Mahmud II, this 85-meter-tall structure was once a critical observation point for detecting fires in the city’s wooden neighborhoods. Today, its neoclassical design and striking white stone façade make it a striking landmark. Illuminated at night with different colors to indicate weather conditions, the tower remains both a functional and symbolic piece of Istanbul’s heritage.
